God's Not Intelligent

Normally I don't think too much about the existence of god, for the fact that it is such an obviously child-like notion. That being said, over the weekend I was plagued by thoughts of how mind-numbingly stupid you must be, to believe in god in the first place.

It seems to me to come down to intelligence. People who believe in god, believe that an intelligence is, in some-way 'behind' the universe. Now there is variation in the belief as to how 'hands-on' this 'intelligent designer' actually is, but theists generally agree that something made the universe (whatever name you want to call it).

So I know this is going to sound lame, but come on people, who the f*ck made god? Seriously though, where did god come from? How did he get so smart? Because it seems ludicrous to me, that you can believe that sometime in the past, something deliberated all his options, and ended up creating this. Okay, so I can't answer the question of what the universe is (and why there is something here instead of nothing) - but even if a super-intelligent alien (which you might call god) made all the universe that we can see, where did he come from? Surely you're not telling me, that he just came from nowhere, out of nothing? Isn't that just stupid?

And then I remembered why people stop asking these stupid questions, and stop believing in god (or don't and carry on believing stupid fairy tales).
